Nick Hano, CPA

Managing Partner

Nick Hano serves as the Managing Partner of Hano CPAs Inc., bringing over 30 years of diverse accounting and advisory experience to the business community. While he acts as a strategic partner to small- and medium-sized businesses across a wide range of sectors, he provides specialized expertise to service-oriented companies, the construction trades, and the real estate industry.

Nick’s expertise extends beyond tax compliance into the operational and financial lifecycle of a business. He assists entrepreneurs in securing critical financing—such as commercial mortgages and lines of credit—by preparing the rigorous financial reporting that lenders require. His practice also includes representing clients in federal, state, and local tax audits, as well as structuring the tax-efficient sale of companies and business assets.

Community Association & Property Management: Leveraging his extensive background in real estate, Nick directs the firm’s Property Management division. The firm actively manages numerous local Homeowners Associations (HOAs), providing a full suite of services that includes financial record-keeping, annual budgeting, monthly financial reporting, and handling day-to-day homeowner issues. This hands-on management experience gives Nick a unique perspective on the financial health of real estate entities.

Credentials: Nick earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Lehigh University. He is a licensed CPA in multiple states and holds memberships in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA).

Scott S. Pruyn, CPA

Senior Tax & Audit Manager

Scott specializes in delivering high-level accounting, audit, and strategic tax planning services to closely held corporations, partnerships, and non-profit organizations. Unlike traditional accountants who focus solely on compliance, Scott leverages a "CFO mindset" to help business owners navigate complex financial landscapes. His primary focus is operational consulting, tax mitigation, and audit defense for limited liability companies and individuals.

With over 35 years of experience, Scott brings a unique operational perspective to the firm. Before returning to public practice, he served as Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Controller for mid-sized companies in the specialty retail, commercial construction, and mortgage banking sectors. This direct industry experience enables him to understand the day-to-day cash flow and operational challenges his clients face, rather than just the year-end numbers.

Credentials & Background: Scott graduated with honors from Drexel University, holding dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Finance and Accounting. He is an active member of the AICPA. Outside the office, Scott maintains an entrepreneurial spirit: he has owned and operated several successful small businesses, served as treasurer for local business associations, and has been a certified PADI scuba diving instructor since 1981.

Kristin Chiccarine, CPA

Small Business Services & QuickBooks Specialist

Kristin Chiccarine is a CPA licensed in both Pennsylvania and Florida, bringing an uncommon blend of technical expertise, teaching experience, and client-focused service to her work. She graduated from the University of Delaware Honors Program with a B.A. in Biology and Italian, began her career in teaching and technical writing, and later returned to school to pursue accounting, ultimately becoming a CPA.

Kristin has worked in both private industry and public accounting, but she prefers the close client relationships and hands-on problem-solving that come with a small firm environment. She focuses on helping individuals and small businesses with year-round accounting support, going beyond compliance to help clients truly understand their numbers.

Systems & Software Expertise: A QuickBooks enthusiast, Kristin especially enjoys sharing her software expertise—cleaning up files, streamlining in-house procedures, and putting systems in place so that “tax time” feels organized and manageable rather than overwhelming.

Community Involvement: Outside of work, Kristin is actively involved with Quilts for Kids, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization that provides handmade quilts to children with life-threatening conditions. Through this work, she combines her love of crafting with her commitment to giving back to the community.
